Character Canon: DCAU/Justice League/Justice League Unlimited.
Character Age/Gender: Chronological: unknown, potentially thousands of years old. Physical: late 20s/early 30s.

Character Canon History:
Diana is the daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, sculpted from clay with life breathed into her by the Gods. Her princess status, however, has not altered the fact that she is an Amazon warrior and has been training and fighting for as long as she could carry a sword. With her eternal youth, strength, and agility blessed to her and her sisters by the Gods, this has been a very, very long time.

After years of nothing more than simple curiosity, Diana felt an unshakeable urge to go to Man's World. Disobeying her mother's advice to stay behind despite the looming danger to the rest of the Earth, Diana donned the Amazon's sacred armor and went to help, the armor giving her the ability to fly and easily deflect bullets with her indestructible silver bracelets. Once in Man's World, she discovered that she was mentally summoned by J'onn J'onnz, the Martian Manhunter, along with Batman, Superman, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl, because he needed their help to defeat the alien invaders.

Initially, she was treated with a disrespect unknown to someone of her status, and her hotheadedness was a bit much for some of the other heroes to handle. She quickly learned how to take orders and work with men when necessary, eventually leading to the triumph of these heroes over the alien invaders. Soon after, she and the other heroes became the Justice League, with their Watchtower floating between the Earth and the Moon in order to stay more alert for alien threats. After eight months of dealing with adjusting to Man's World and the many criminals that reside there, Wonder Woman came to the decision that she needed to return to Paradise Island and apologize to her mother for leaving. Upon arrival, she discovered that her sisters and mother had all been turned to stone by the sorceror Felix Faust - who was breaking Themysciran law by being a man on the island in the first place. Without any other options to save her fellow Amazons, she made a deal with Faust to collect a few ancient fragments for him.

After some persuasion, she allowed the other members of the League to help her retrieve these fragments, not realizing until they had all the pieces that it would become a key to release Hades from his prison in Tarterus. After sending Hades back into the depths of Hell, Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, and the Martian Manhunter were honored as heroes of Themyscira, but Diana was reluctantly exiled by her mother for bringing men onto their sacred ground.

In the continuing months, Diana almost died under the force of a giant missile, dealt with a rogue Amazon attempting to rid the world of all men, and traveled back in time to World War II, meeting and falling for a spy named Steve Trevor. Steve was her first mutual romantic experience with a man and after returning to the present, her interest in Batman became...a bit more noticeable.

The next time those feelings are explored is when Diana decides to go to a fancy party in Paris, where she meets infamous playboy Bruce Wayne and almost immediately realizes that he's Batman. After making friends with Audrey, the princess-turned-queen of Kasnia, she and Batman defeat the evil immortal Vandal Savage and stop his plot to build a giant space weapon. After he was put into a Kasnian prison, Diana not-so-subtley revealed to Batman that she was aware of his identity.

In the coming months, she and the rest of the League discovered the existance of the Justice Lords, an alternate dimension version of the League whose Flash died and they took over their world in an effort to keep it safe. The Justice Lords attempted to exact their martial law in the Justice League's world, but the League defeated the Lords and sent them back to their own dimension.

After dealing with more supernatural threats, the formation of a group of supervillains, the team temporarily breaking up, and being convinced that Superman had died, Diana had only a small amount of free time before the Thanagarian Invasion - where Hawkgirl's people came from their planet to turn Earth into a hyperspace bypass. After the Justice League (Hawkgirl excluded) refused to help the Thanagarians, they captured them and enforced martial law on the planet.

During their escape and eventual defeat of the Thanagarians, Batman, Flash, and Superman's secret identities were all revealed to the team. Despite Hawkgirl's help in stopping her people from destroying the Earth, Diana could not forgive her for her betrayal, and during the team's vote on whether or not to keep her on, she and Batman both said "no". Without asking for their decision, Hawkgirl left the team.

Batman destroyed the Watchtower in order to stop the Thanagarians, so Diana found an apartment in New York to stay in while the new one was being built. After the new Watchtower was finished, the Justice League took in hundreds of new members to help keep the Earth safe.

Less than a few months after initiation to all the new members, Diana and Bruce went to visit Clark at his Fortress of Solitude for his birthday. When they arrived, he had been captured by a Black Mercy plant, which attaches to the wearer and forces them into a dreamlike paradise, completely cutting them off from reality. Batman tried to remove this plant from Superman's chest while Diana barely held her own against an alien criminal named Mongol - who aimed to destroy all human beings.

Once Superman was freed from the Black Mercy, it attched to Batman, and Clark fought Mongol while Diana used the rest of her strength to free Batman. They were only able to defeat Mongol by trapping him in the Black Mercy's claws. Beaten and bruised, Diana, Batman, and Superman eventually went their separate ways for the time being.

Character Personality:
Diana, having been raised a princess, knows how to act regal and appropriate in necessary situations. Besides her job as a superhero, she's also the ambassador of Themyscira, so she knows how to be as professional as possible around even the most annoying people. Not only was she brought up this way by her mother, but Batman, Superman, and other heroes with professional alter egos explained to her the necessary speech and motions of being among other ambassadors. Though she's not very confident in her diplomatic abilities when it comes to negotiating peace - her home island was all about war and fighting, so occasionally she'll let something slip that really shouldn't have been said. Diana isn't stupid, though, she knows when she messes up and she will apologize when the situation calls for it. Hippolyta raised her daughter to understand her faults and apologize when they made themselves known, so she did just that.

When the situation doesn't call for it, though - Diana can be ridiculously stubborn to the point of being totally rude. She's rarely rude to a woman, only if there's cause, but sometimes her Amazon upbringing comes out and Diana just feels a deep lack of respect for all the men in the world. She is confident in her sense of righteousness, and criminals and lawbreakers do not deserve her respect. Sometimes this gets her in trouble with the League - she can be a bit too violent with normal human beings and it looks bad for metahumans everywhere. Her hardheadedness can get her into trouble, but overall Diana has learned to try to stay away from unnecessary conflict (through the insistence of Clark and J'onn).

Diana is dedicated to her sense of honor and justice. When exiled from her home, she accepted her fate with her head held high. When her strength and ability as a warrior is questioned, she says, "We Amazons are warriors born! Want to test me?" She wears bright colors and doesn't bother with a secret identity because she wants people to know who she is and what she stands for. Amazons consider hiding and having secrets to be a ridiculous weakness, and charging headfirst is the best way to fight. Despite her time in Man's World, Diana has not let go of these philosophies.

On a more social level, Diana's personality fluctuates depending on who she's with. Around Superman or Batman, who are her two closest friends, she is very open about her feelings and ideas. Especially with Batman, whom she has romantic feelings for...though she's not sure how to go about taking care of that. She's shown interest in Batman multiple times, and though it's obviously mutual, he blows her off with reasons she considers to be complete bullshit. Even though she does flirt with him, Diana's experience with romance is her brief encounters with Steve Trevor, and that's it. Her mother and sisters never taught her anything of love with a man, so she honestly didn't know what she'd do with Batman if he ever said "yes". But that didn't stop her from trying - when an Amazon wanted something, she would not give up until she got it.

Diana is also very open with other teammates, specifically the founding members of the League (excluding Hawkgirl). When interacting with strangers, depending on the situation she can be either awkward and shy or a complete social butterfly! At a party in Paris, she felt awkward when bombarded with questions about being Wonder Woman or her home life, but when she was one-on-one with Bruce Wayne or Princess Audrey of Kasnia, she's perfectly comfortable with chitchat and casual banter. Bruce, she was comfortable with because he was so familiar (and soon enough she realized why), and she was comfortable around Audrey because not only was she another woman, but Audrey was another princess. Diana had not spent time with royalty since being exiled, and Audrey was charming and always ready to have fun and Diana learned a good bit about men from her.

Third person sample:

Diana was tired, plain and simple. She wasn't often tired, or worn, or bruised and beaten...but today had been the closest she felt she'd ever come to death.

If not for Bruce breaking Clark out of his trance, she would've died. She'd never imagined that someone as strong as Mongul could possibly exist. And Superman almost beat him - Diana couldn't help but imagine what would happen if she ever had to fight Clark. At least Batman always carried kryptonite to take him down.

However, Mongul didn't have a kryptonite. He had raw strength and power, the thickest skin Diana had ever punched. Admittedly, she'd almost been scared. But seeing Bruce in the grasp of that...thing was much more frightening. Even though she'd been crawling on the floor in pain, seeing him like that gave her the rush of adrenaline she needed to stand up and save him. Batman was never meant to be seen in such a weak position. That went against everything that was Batman.

She wondered, during her painful walk back towards her jet, what Clark and Bruce might've dreamed of. Mongul's pathetic projection of Clark ruling over humans was obviously incorrect - likely, she imagined him with his family back on Krypton. Bruce, however, she didn't know. He never spoke of his past, and Clark had told her not to look into it, so she didn't. Perhaps Bruce also dreamt about being with his family.

Diana knew that's what she would've dreamed about. Being back home on Themyscira - training with her sisters and horseback riding with her mother. Since she was exiled, she had seen her mother a few times, but she couldn't actually spend time with her...and that hurt even worse. Diana missed Hippolyta more than anything.

But now the Black Mercy was out of their hair, and she could relax. The thoughts of what her friends dreamed about was irrelevant to the fact that this trial was over. And now Bruce was safe, and Clark was safe, and she was safe...and Mongul was incapacitated. And as soon as she made her way back onto her jet, which fortunately enough, Bruce could pilot, Diana plopped down in a seat and immediately passed out.
